Theatre, Petra
Nabateans carved their Theatres entirely out of stone into the side of mountains, at the time of King Aretas IV (9BC-40AD), and reused by Romans. The main theatre consisting of three rows of seats separated by passageways and seven stairways ascend the auditorium, the original theater badly damaged by many earthquake.
A large Theatre located 600m, Nabateans carved this entirely out of stone into the side of Jabal Al Madbah (mountain at the foot of the High Place of Sacrifice), at the time of King Aretas IV (9BC-40AD), and reused by Romans. It can accommodate more than 4000 spectators.

This theatre is located 260 meter east of Petra Nymphaeum, a section of the orchestra and its walls is the only remaining parts of it, and the theatre area is full of construction stones.

Wadi Sabra Theatre believed to serve as ritual gathering place only for the worshipping of the dead, completely carved in a deep valley at the foot of Jebel el-Yathum, there are a sophisticated water supply system above the theatre contains channels, dams and water reservoirs.
